A new and fantastic
opportunity has arisen for a Release Manager to join our thriving Managed Service
business, in a brand new team to drive the creation, implementation and
delivery of a new central Release Management service to high profile managed
service customers. The successful individual will be responsible for taking
ownership of the initial creation of this service as well as our ability to
deliver the service on an ongoing basis once the customer has gone through the
BTO process.
Responsibilities:
Strategy and
Planning - 35%
·
Define
the scope and contents of each release with the relevant business and
(internal) IS teams and gain their agreement to the requirements and commitment
to effectively support its delivery.
·
Forward
manage the schedule of expected releases/improvement requests to maximise the
effectiveness of delivery.
·
Analyse
any changes that occur within the customer and identify any potential impacts
and change requirements to be included in future IS releases.
·
Liaise
with relevant ISP to ensure that adequate IS support is provided pre, during
and post implementation.
·
Create
standardised documentation for the service
Service
Delivery - 25%
·
Work
with relevant areas of the business and ISPs to plan, identify and monitor
risk, allocate resources, monitor and report progress in the implementation of
IS releases.
·
Track
and manage progress in all areas of each release project
Resource and
Performance Management - 15%
·
Monitor
the performance of others involved in the IS release raising issues with management
when appropriate.
·
Ensure
that sufficient resources are dedicated to the delivery of the agreed service
Service Development –
15%
·
Assist
in the development of the Business Take on (BTO) process related to the
implementation of Release management.
Administration and
Development - 10%
·
Make
recommendations for the personal development of operational staff.
Skills
Required:
·
Experience
in a Release Management environment
·
Ability
to work under pressure and adapt quickly
·
Self
Motivated, able to work off own initiative or as part of a team when required.
·
Financially
aware, able to link actions to costs.
·
Excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
·
Good
knowledge of IT platforms, equipment and applications supported within relevant
areas.

ability to identify, develop and maintain consistent best practice

the principles and processes for delivering Release Management internally and
